Description:
The mythos surrounding aliens, from UFO sightings to theories of the potential for a hostile alien invasion, has captured mass attention and ingrained itself in popular culture, possibly due to the implication that such events would have for dramatically reshaping the way humans see ourselves and interact with the world and thus dramatically changing societal structures and social relations.
A similar feeling arises in the face of rapid technological advancements, which appear to serve the interests of a corporate minority while disenfranchising the masses and creating an atmosphere of false information, confusion and hypernormalisation.
I wanted to combine these two concepts and the uncertain feeling that they can generate by designing a monster that could be either alien or robotic, and incorporating the chaos of a warzone as well as the looming, threatening presence of technological, surveillance and artificial intelligence companies.
